Sally Sheppard

Sally Sheppard is a clinically licensed
social worker and has been working with victims of sexual
assault and abuse for over 10 years. She has mostly worked
with children as a certified forensic interviewer and forensic
evaluator.
Sally received her Bachelors of Arts
degree from Appalachian State University in Sociology with
a concentration in Criminology and Social Control. She has
also earned her Masters of Social Work at the University of
Georgia.
Sally's advice to survivors: “Talk
to someone about it and realize that you are not alone.”
Hannah Anderson
Child Services Program Manager

A native of Georgia, Hannah received
her Bachelors degree in Sociology from Valdosta State University.
She is currently a certified forensic interviewer for Clarke
and Oconee counties. Hannah has been working with Children’s
Advocacy Centers for 7 years since she learned about them
through her job in the school system.
Hannah's advice to survivors, “Blame
should always be focused toward the offender, never
the victim”
Sarah Chatfield

After graduating with a Bachelors and
Masters Degree in Social Work from Florida State University,
Sarah Krieger moved to Athens to become our Adult Services
Advocate. Throughout her college career Sarah volunteered
with the local domestic and sexual violence agency in Tallahassee
which fostered her interest in victim advocacy. She also worked
with Florida State University’s Victim Advocate Program
with victims of sexual assault.
Sarah's advice to survivors: “Take
the time and invest in yourself to address the trauma from
a sexual assault, whenever it may have occurred. It is never
too late. Progress can be made if you make the brave decision
to do so.”
Lori Karr
Family Advocate/Outreach Coordinator

Lori Karr has worked with children and
families for 15 years in many facets. Her various roles include;
teaching Pre-K, facilitating parenting classes and conducting
home visits as a Family Support Worker.
After graduating from the University
of Georgia with a Bachelors Degree in Child and Family Development,
Lori’s career path took her to several other states
until returning to Athens, Georgia. Lori currently is our
Family Advocate/Outreach Coordinator.
Lori’s advice to survivors: “You
are not alone. It is never your fault and healing is possible.”
