The Cottage offers education and awareness on a number of issues and topics related directly to child abuse and sexual assault.  The Cottage is able to speak to groups about topics ranging from child sexual abuse prevention in both English and Spanish to Bystander Intervention of Sexual Violence.  To learn more about the different topics, please click here. Darkness to Light: Stewards of Children

An evidence-informed child sexual abuse prevention training that educates adults on how to recognize, prevent and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. This award-winning training is two and a half hours long. This training incorporates a video and an interactive workbook to help encourage an engaging discussion on how to limit children to the vulnerabilities of child sexual abuse. The video includes interviews with child sexual abuse survivors, experts, and treatment providers. This training teaches adults practical actions they can take to reduce instances of child sexual abuse within their organizations, families and communities. The target audience for this training includes; educators, youth serving agencies, parents and caregivers, professionals in intervention and treatment, faith based communities, teens and young adults. There may be a cost of $10 associated with this training for the training notebook.

Protecting Our Children

A child sexual abuse prevention training. The target audience is for parents and caregivers. This training is one hour long. This training incorporates an expert on child sexual abuse to discuss the five steps to keep children safe.

Social Media Safety

This training is designed to provide education to middle school students on the topics of sexting, cyber bulling, sextortion and social media safety. This training teaches 11-14 year olds ways to stay safe while communicating on the internet.
